Creative Methods of Book Marketing

Writing a great book and getting it published are just parts of the journey to becoming a successful author.  Making the buying public aware of your book – and getting them to buy it – is the final, and often the hardest, step.  If you were able to get published by a major publishing house, they will most likely shoulder most of that burden.  If you go with a small publisher or self-publishing, as more and more os us are, that task will fall squarely on your shoulders.

The following is a round-up of book marketing tips posted to BookBuzzer by Tony Eldridge.  Tony is the author of the action/adventure book, The Samson Effect, that Clive Cussler calls a “first rate thriller brimming with intrigue and adventure” and the Twitter marketing book, Conducting Effective Twitter Contests which helps people find targeted Twitter followers.  He also shares his book marketing tips with fellow authors through his blog and through his free video marketing tips for authors. 1. Great articles, i think that any way to get more exposure for your books is a good thing. Any creative ways to get ahead of the competition should be looked into and this will give me a lot to read.

  2. Wow very good stuff, Allan. There’s ton of info to go through here but if you want to get the word out I guess you can’t afford to leave any stone unturned.

Thanks for compiling this, most of this stuff is going in my Evernote!

  3. Great guide, this will be useful. I would also suggest to offer extracts of your book for free. There are loads of sites out there with public domain books and their traffic is increasing because of the popular ebook readers. Find these sites and offer them to publish a free sample.

  4. This is very nice of you to issue out some tips. Getting people to know about your book and actually buy it can be really challenging but with great marketing skills it is possible.
