It\u2019s raining.<\/p>\n

Not hard, just a gentle rain.<\/p>\n

Before it started raining I was mowing the front yard.<\/p>\n

I was using our self-propelled walk-behind mower: that area is way too steep for the riding mower.<\/p>\n

Riding mowers tend to roll over out there.<\/p>\n

Rolling a mower is not fun.<\/p>\n

I hit a stump.<\/p>\n

Broke the mower.<\/p>\n

Bent the blade.<\/p>\n

Hope I didn\u2019t twist the shaft too. If I did, that mower becomes expensive scrap metal.<\/p>\n

\"sisyphus\"<\/a>Shoved the dead mower\u00a0up, up, up the steep hill (I was feeling a bit like Sisyphus) through two gates up to the shop and left it there.<\/p>\n

It was feeling like rain, so I encouraged all the house dogs (who were trapped inside while I mowed because of the open gates) to head outside and do what needed to be done.\u00a0 Some were reluctant, but complied.<\/p>\n

As soon as they were back in I took a shower (it is Wednesday and I don\u2019t want to go to church all stinky).<\/p>\n

\"Blondie<\/a>When I opened the shower curtain, Blondie was sitting right there peering at me with wide eyes, \u201cDougie, Dougie, Dougie: sky boomers Dougie.\u00a0 Can I come in there with you?\u00a0 No, wait … that\u2019s a wet place.\u00a0 Will you come out here and comfort me?\u201d<\/p>\n

Sure enough, it was raining and there was an occasional peal of distant thunder.<\/p>\n

Blondie is scared of thunder.<\/p>\n

Now I\u2019m trying to finish getting ready for church with a 90 pound woolly wart on my foot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
