\"\"<\/a>I\u2019m getting into playing games.\u00a0 Not board games, not even computer games, but head games … with telemarketers.<\/p>\n

I have been using the technique of just not answering the phone if I don\u2019t recognize the number.\u00a0 That\u2019s fine as long as no one you don\u2019t know is likely to be calling you, but recently I\u2019ve been on the other side of that fence and have had to answer calls that were potentially important.\u00a0 And, there is the fact that a no answer just seems to keep me in their dialing queue so they just keep calling for ever and ever.\u00a0 So I decided to take them on and see if I couldn\u2019t get them to take me out of their listing because they know it\u2019s a waste of time calling this number.<\/p>\n

Last night was a fella selling burial insurance.\u00a0 He had a fancier name for it but that\u2019s what it was, and we chatted a for a bit about the high cost of a funeral and internment.\u00a0 Then he asked me how old I am.<\/p>\n

\u201c147 years old, and I never felt better\u201d<\/p>\n

He said some angry things in what sounded like Russian and hung up.<\/p>\n

This evening it was a fella named Tom from GE Home Security Systems.\u00a0 He talked about what a dangerous place the world has become and asked if I was concerned about my home\u2019s security.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, not at all.\u201d
\n\u201cNo?\u00a0 Why is that?\u201d
\n\u201cI have eight large pit bulls living with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

He hung up.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m starting to like this.\u00a0 I\u2019ll keep track of who calls and see if they call back.\u00a0 If not, I\u2019ll just keep on with this program.\u00a0 It\u2019s kinda fun.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
