Cochise vs the Dump Truck

Today we had some driveway work done.  The driveway up to my workshop is a MESS!  All washed out and badly rutted.  I bent a rim on Marie’s Subaru by taking it up this driveway.  It’s time to dig deep and get repairs done or it will just keep getting worse.

Cochise insisted on going out to chase the tractor and the dump truck and hurl heinous threats at everyone.  He stayed on his side of the fencing, they stayed on theirs.  He got so worked up early on that he leapt up against the fencing, bounced back, and did a back flip!

After a half hour of these intense aerobics, I went out with a lead to bring him back to the house.  He offered no resistance at all.  His tongue was hanging so low he was tripping on it!

We got half way up the hill to the house and he just flopped over on his side and panted, “I can’t go any farther, carry me!” Continue reading “Cochise vs the Dump Truck”

Silly Sun Puppies

Blondie-Cochise 131129 Sun Puppies-800The sun is shining again today, as it did yesterday, but not for a long time before that.  Blondie and Cochise are making the most of it: or trying to.

The sun has not yet swung around far enough to admit much of the sunbeam through the window, just a strip in front of the sofa.  They’re not allowed ON the sofa and they know it.  So I put the snuggle-bed over in the sunshine for Cochise when they came in from their last exercise time and he was shivering.  It’s cold out.  The cold doesn’t bother Blondie, she has a heavier coat.

Cochise curled into the bed, felt the warmth of the sunshine and moaned with pleasure.  Blondie stood nearby and looked at him enviously.  She poked at him with her nose.  He yawned at her (which in dog-speak does not mean he’s tired – in this case it was “go away you’re bothering me”).

Cochise, dogs, riding, tractor supplyOnce we were in the truck I used my most adorable “pleeeese” face to get Nice Lady to let me sit up front and her to ride in the back, it didn’t work, but she had just washed the big pillows that go on the floor back here so it was not only cushy, but fresh smelling.
